Veneers

At our clinic, we specialise in transforming smiles with high-quality dental veneers. Veneers are a popular and effective solution for correcting various dental imperfections and achieving a beautiful, natural-looking smile. Whether you want to brighten your smile or repair chips or cracks, our skilled team is here to help with state-of-the-art veneer solutions.

What are veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made coverings crafted from porcelain or resin-composite materials to cover the front surface of teeth, enhancing their appearance. These shells are bonded to the teeth to alter their colour, shape, size, or length, offering a way to achieve a flawless smile.

Why would someone need veneers?

Individuals may opt for veneers to address several dental issues. These include discoloured teeth due to various causes, like root canal treatment or certain medications, as well as worn-down, chipped, or broken teeth. Veneers can also rectify teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped and effectively close gaps between teeth to create a more uniform look.

What are the different types of veneers?

Veneers come mainly in two forms: porcelain and composite resin. Porcelain veneers are celebrated for their robustness and capacity to replicate the light-reflecting qualities of natural teeth, making them highly resistant to staining.  Composite resin veneers are less expensive, require less tooth enamel removal, and can usually be applied in a single visit, making them a quicker, though less durable, option.

What does the veneer procedure involve?

The procedure for placing veneers includes consultation and planning, during which you discuss your goals and the design of the veneers. The teeth are then prepared by extracting a small amount of enamel to accommodate the veneer.  Impressions of your teeth are created and sent to a dental laboratory where the veneers are crafted. Upon completion, the veneers are temporarily placed to check their fit and colour, adjusted as necessary, and finally, permanently cemented to your teeth using a special adhesive and curing light.

How long do veneers last?

Veneers generally last 7 to 15 years, depending on how well they are maintained. Proper dental hygiene, avoiding hard foods, and using protective gear during sports or night-time teeth grinding can extend their longevity.

What are the benefits of veneers?

Veneers offer a significant aesthetic improvement, making even the darkest teeth look bright white and providing a natural tooth appearance that is well tolerated by gum tissues. They offer a conservative approach to changing a tooth’s colour and shape without the extensive shaping required by crowns.  Connect with us today to schedule a consultation and explore how veneers can boost your confidence and aesthetics.
